Replacement Pfizer Vaccinations
A breach in cold chain refrigeration by a private health provider in the Queenstown-Lakes District has meant that 1571 people are needing replacement vaccinations. Queenstown Airport, Mountain Lakes Medical Centre and Te Kāika are supporting the wider Queenstown community to receive their replacement vaccinations on Thursday 10 March and Friday 11 March from 11AM – 7PM at the Brookes Road Public Car Park. Other recent updates:
- We are providing on-site PCR testing and also distributing RATs at all our testing centres. Please be clear with our team if you require a PCR as our main testing method is RATs.
- We are not part of the distribution centres that provide Critical Workers with RATs under the Close Contact Exemption Scheme. Please check Healthpoint to find out where these collection sites are.
Child Pfizer Vaccine – Ages 5 to 11 years
Te Kāika is offering vaccines to tamariki aged 5 – 11 years from Wednesday 19 January 2022. If you are due your vaccine booster, bring your tamaiti in at the same time and you can protect each other! No bookings required.
COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine boosters will be offered at Te Kāika 4 months AFTER your primary course of the vaccine from Wednesday 05 January 2022. No bookings required.

There are no bathroom facilities on site.
Important Information:
- We currently do not offer Rapid Antigen Tests.
- Symptomatic tests are FREE.
- For safety purposes, we cannot offer walk-in testing. Please contact your GP or alternatively the Community Testing Centre at 5 Malcolm Street offer walk-ins.
- Open 8:30AM – 4PM, 7 days.
For anyone with symptoms:
To ensure your safety and the safety of others, we ask that you follow these precautions when coming in for your COVID test:
- This is a drive thru only service. Please have your mask on at all times when you arrive.
- On arrival, please remain in your car. Our team will direct you to the right lane.
- Once you have completed your test, please return straight home until you receive your result via text message.
For anyone needing a COVID-19 test for travel:
This MUST be booked through our COVID-19 Call Centre. Please call 0800 847 862 to book.
Important information regarding travel tests:
- All travel tests are not funded.
- Travel tests are offered at Te Kāika Health Centre, 25 College Street Caversham – not Victoria Road Car Park.
PLEASE NOTE: Your COVID-19 test results will take a minimum of 48 hours to come back. You can also find your results on My COVID Record.
Important Information:

- All vaccinations are FREE.
- Boosters are offered 4 months AFTER your primary course of the vaccine for anyone aged 18 years and over. No bookings are needed.

Vaccination process:
We want you to feel safe and comfortable when you come in for your vaccination. Here’s what to expect:
On arrival, please remain in your car. Our team will direct you to the right lane.
Once you have been vaccinated, you will be expected to stay on site for at least 15 minutes for observation.
